Smallest rental ever

After arriving at Keflavik, we picked up the smallest rental we’ve ever had! And probably also the most expensive one…

Smallest rental ever

We’ve been to Iceland before, but everything is more crowded and more expensive now… We tried finding the cache outside the airport (the one that was new since last time), but we had to give up. Too many muggles around, sitting or sleeping right next to GZ.

Let’s be tourists

The last time we visited Iceland (one night stopover that time as well), we didn’t have much time to explore Reykjavik. Vi focused mainly on the Golden Circle. So this time, we wanted to see a bit more of Reykjavik.

So we visited the most famous locations, Hallgrímskirkja, Harpa, and the place where Iceland’s first cache was hidden (clearly, that’s a major tourist attraction in Reykjavik!).

We also stopped to get some Icelandic ice cream, at a place we got recommended. Sadly there’s not a lot of caches on places like this in Iceland. And after eating ice cream, we also had to try the Icelandic hot dog.

Let’s go underground!

After visiting Reykjavik, we headed back towards Keflavik, where we had booked a hotel. But first we had to do a «short» detour. We stopped at the entrance to a little cave. At least we thought it was a little cave…

Apparently the cave was a lot bigger than we thought. We didn’t realize that until we had searched a while in the first room. We had to crawl through the small, almost invisible, opening in the end of the first room. The room inside was huge! We were neither dressed, nor properly equipped, but we found the cache 😀 And we even made it back out without too much injuries 😛

The bridge to America

We continued down the narrow roads, and eventually made it to the next stop. A nice earthcache at the place where you can walk over the bridge from Eurasia to America. From one continent to the other.

We did one final stop, during sunset, to find a large-cache. After that, it was time to get some sleep. We had to get up early in the morning…
